Lions, paifang and railings
Confirm the entrance width, steps, vehicle clearance, left-right arrangement and foundation. These items affect both design proportion and installation access.
TEMPLE PROCUREMENT GUIDE
Prepare the right photos, dimensions and project information before requesting a quotation. A clear brief makes product selection, pricing, packing and installation planning much more efficient.
You do not need to know every industry term. Send clear photos of the temple entrance, main hall, altar, courtyard or existing stonework. Mark the location where the new piece will be installed and explain its purpose.
A reference image can show the preferred posture, carving density, religious details and overall character. It is a starting point for discussion, not a substitute for confirming dimensions and site conditions.
For an initial estimate, approximate information is acceptable. Final production still requires confirmed dimensions and specifications.
| Product list | List each item and quantity, such as stone lions, dragon pillars, paifang, deity statues, relief panels, incense burners, railings, steles or a complete stonework package. |
|---|---|
| Site photos | Provide front, side and wider context views. Include entrances, steps, foundations, overhead clearance and the unloading route when relevant. |
| Dimensions | Give approximate height, width, depth, column diameter, base size or available opening. Label the unit clearly. |
| Reference style | Share photos of the desired style and identify the details that matter, such as facial expression, dragon form, motifs, inscriptions or surface finish. |
| Delivery details | State the country, city, destination port and whether you need only port delivery, inland transport or installation coordination. |
GROUP RELATED ITEMS BEFORE QUOTING
Confirm the entrance width, steps, vehicle clearance, left-right arrangement and foundation. These items affect both design proportion and installation access.
Confirm structural column dimensions, wrap-around depth, viewing distance and the relationship between patterns, inscriptions and architectural lines.
Confirm deity references, altar height, inscription text, incense use, cleaning access and the worship practices of the temple community.
A zone-based schedule is easier for a committee and contractor to review than a list of unrelated product names.
| Entrance and forecourt | Paifang or gate, guardian lions, flag-pole bases, steps, name panels and boundary reliefs. |
|---|---|
| Main hall | Dragon pillars, column bases, thresholds, wall reliefs, statue pedestals and architectural stone components. |
| Worship area | Deity statues, incense burners, offering tables, steles and ritual-related stone fittings. |
| Courtyard and perimeter | Railings, balusters, lanterns, bridges, drainage pieces, landscape stones and commemorative panels. |
A temple committee should approve religious references and priorities. The contractor should confirm site dimensions, foundations, interfaces and lifting access. The stone supplier should return a numbered product schedule, production drawings, material samples, packing scope and delivery assumptions.
